Franziska von Karma ~ Analysis (WIP) - 16.03.26
That one line from little Pearls where she yells at Fran saying "You're nothing but a scared little girl without your whip!" and DAMN. she was so brutal for this, but also, she's right.
It's such an important line while analysing Franziska lowk but thats my opinion on that one line from Pearly. Because think about it: when something doesn't go her way, what does fran do? she whips people (lashes out). when someone disagrees? whip. a mere inconvenience? whip.
Literally ANYTHING and it'll get the whip.
But take that away, her sole safety, her clutch, what can she do? nothing. she's literally harmless without it. she can yell, yeah, but the weight of her words are near non existant as her vocabulary is mostly her screaming abouthow you're a fool and that's it.
Miles is the sibling with more tact and more impact with his words. he's the vocal assault, fran's the physical.

Eustace Winner ~ Analysis (WIP) - 30.01.26

For some backstory: Eustace Winner is a 17 year old prosecutor who studied as a student prosecutor at Themis Legal Academy. This is because his father, Excelsius Winner is the Chief Prosecutor, who later became Chairman of the Committee of Prosecutorial Excellence in Ace Attorney Investigations 2, Prosecutor's Gambit on Case 4 (AAI2-4), A Turnabout Forsaken on April 6th of 2019.

Eustace first debuts on AAI2-2, The Captive Turnabout where he Miles and Co. meet with Verity Gavélle, a judge as well as a member of the Committee of Prosecutorial Excellence. Her job is observing the movements of prosecutors in order to determine who is unfit for the job, something the Committee calls the "Prosecutor Purge". Miles Edgeworth is one of these prosecutors who is under evaluation, with Gavèlle having continuously attempted several times to replace him with Eustace.
Eustace in this case is shown to be extremely incompetent, even considered a gag / gimmick character that Ace Attorney is no stranger to creating, with his name literally being a pun akin to the names usually handed to such characters — Eustace being a play with the word Useless. He is a useless winner which, is backed up by how he creates nonsense claims which Edgeworth has no problem with breaking down and cracking with simple Logic, just shows how he truly is just a rookie. He even wears the Themis Legal Academy uniform and the jacket handed out to brand new graduate prosecutors from the Academy.
He was assigned to take over a multitude of Edgeworth's cases by the Committee which was headed by his father Excelsius. He's arrogant, mixes up his words and phrases and his theme, Eustace Winner ~ Winning Deductions, is that of a simple waltz in moderato which sounds rather laughable and simple; showcasing how he's a real rookie with how simple and uncomplicated the piece is. His incompetence is even made fun of by Gumshoe, Kay, and even Larry with how ridiculous he is.
He isn't just a gimmick / gag character, but is the gag itself.
It's only until AAI2-4 that we see a different version of him; one who clearly admires his father who we finally meet; Excelsius — who ruthlessly yells and dubs him an "idiot boy". Eustace is uncaring of this, constantly seeking approval and love that his father never gives him for even a second. And even when Excelsius is accused of the crime in AAI2-4, Eustace is relentless in attempting to defend his fatuer who still continues to berate him and doesn't even thank his son for attempting to get him out of the situation. Later on in the case does he realise his father's actions are truly quite despicable and even Excelsius claims later that he rigged his achievements so he would always appear at the top of his classes and succeed — a useless winner, compared to him— a excelsior.
This display makes the player sit back and feel a little bad, even pity poor Eustace.

N and Ghetsis ~ Analysis - 15.07.25

I feel N as a character is mildly interesting and as popular as he is as how he is often perceived as a fan favourite, his mischaracterisation is so rampant that it compelled me to write this full essay on him as a whole.
N from the start of the black and white games can be seen as a mysterious, possibly intriguing plot device as he compells and dares you to try and stop him. N may also be looked over because of how realistic he may be as well, with his realisation and resolve at the end of BW.
N in his early life was orphaned and lived in the forest with Pokémon. He could fully understand Pokémon, and hear their voices, thus he connected with them to an extreme level. His age then was unknown, but I'd wager around the age of 4 - 5. This is also the period of time he met Ghetsis, his foster father.
Ghetsis saw the potential N had, the way he could understand and hear Pokémon's voices, he took that to his advantage, and adopted him. He was given Ghetsis's name of Harmonia, which Ghetsis makes clear is an honourable and high thing, immediately starting a process of manipulation as well as he would also isolate N from the world and only let in Anthea and Concordia, who acted as maids to N as well as Pokémon that had been abused by their trainers in order to mold N's mind to Ghetsis's liking. At the age of I'm assuming 18 he was crowned king of Team Plasma, and this is the sequence we see at the beginning of the game. All of this backstory is all some context for my analysis, as this background is essential for understanding N.
From the start, we can see how N was groomed to be king of Team Plasma— Team Plasma fronts as an organisation concerning over Pokémon wellbeing, encouraging- moreso manipulating- trainers to release their Pokémon because they are suffering under people's care, and they claim that Pokémon dislike being caught for battling.
N, of course, fully believes this and this is his truth. His ideal is that people listen to this truth and ideally release their Pokémon because of potential abuse. And he was groomed for this to all be his truth and ideals; he sees things in black and white, all because of Ghetsis's psychological manipulation and grooming.
We of course learn how his mental state Is during the events of BW, as his room is of course, colourful, full of miscellaneous toys, and if you inspect them, you fully learn that this is indeed, N's Room. The name on the basketball reading Harmonia, the scratches on the ramp from pokémon, but you also see how he got bored from the train having been tossed into the basketball hoop, trying to find new ways to play with the toys he's grown much too accustomed to.
This one room fully represents his mentality though. Innocent. He's been so sheltered and isolated, no other form of human communication other than Team Plasma, but mainly Ghetsis, his groomer. Who manipulated him to think in black and white, to think this specific way that pokémon are suffering under people's care regardless of anything. His room has been his whole life until he was crowned king, where he finally could go out into the world, which is where he meets the player.
Another thing is that N's mannerisms and way of speech can also be a result of Ghetsis having been his main guardian and presumably the one who provided most of N's education other than Anthea and Concordia, who had also been groomed to think the ways Ghetsis wants. N is seen to speak how he wants to get his eay before reiterating and being more realistic, shaking his head and fixing his sentences (if that makes sense?). Ghetsis on the other hand, fully means what he says; he gets what he wants even by force and is so determined towards his goals, he'd sacrifice the childhoods of his own adopted children for his personal gain. He'd even willingly kill a child (B2W2 protags) simply because.
This is even reflected in the spin-off mobile game, Pokémon Masters EX, where during his villain arc, he had nearly killed Paulo's Rockruff for getting the way of his plans. He holds no care for others, seeing only himself in anything and how he can utilise a range of things, such as items or even other people for his own goals, like N. This can also just be generally seen in Team Plasma's antics, how they are similar to Team Rocket. Their threat can be quite realistic, honestly.
A quick brief:
Team Plasma and Team Rocket are organisations that prioritise control of the public.
Team Aqua/Magma and Galactic are organisations that prioritise the control of dieties.
Magma/Aqua and Galactic seek to control the legendaries of their reigon in order to create a better world. With Aqua/Magma awakening the Gods of the Sea/Land (Groudon/Kyogre) in order to expand the land/open the oceans. Galactic had attempted to use the red chain, which they made by controlling the Sinnoh lake spirits, to then control Dialga and Palkia, the gods of Time and Space respectively in order to erase the world, then create a new one devoid of emotion and human spirit.
In contrast to the world destructive goals of the other teams, Team Rocket and Team Plasma have a much simpler goal in mind which they share; their leaders wanting to have full control of the reigon, world, and in the case of Giovanni in Rainbow Rocket, the multiverse. See, if you have pokémon, you can be deemed a trainer. If you are efficient with being a battle focused trainer, you can progressively be stronger. Pokémon battles are crucial in the pokémon universe as being champion can equal you being responsible to the reigon due to your strength as a trainer. That's where Team Rocket and Team Plasma come in. They seek to deprive others of their pokémon in order to be stronger than the public, and thus have ultimate control over the comings and goings of anything.
The difference however, between Team Rocket and Team Plasma, is their methods. Team Rocket seeks control by force whereas Plasma gains control by multiple methods of manipulation. Team Plasma holds multiple public speeches, all sharing their beliefs in order to persuade the public into doing their bidding.
Now, back with the Harmonias, i feel it's time we talk about Ghetsis now. I also think that all this talk about how Team Plasma operates represents Ghetsis's own psychological and how he operates. Especially considering how dedicated he was to constructing this perfect plan that basically took him years and a bunch of patience. He has absolutely no remorse for any of his actions. Ghetsis also regards himself incredibly highly as reflected in his battle theme, as in BW his theme consists mainly of timpani drums in G amd C, which is a reference to his Japanese name (G-Cis). In the middle of the theme, a choir starts chanting his name and at parts sounds discordant.
This theme essentially mimicks Arceus's theme, who, is essentially the God of creation and is basically in the lore The Main God. And in Legends Arceus, the idea of the form we see Arceus in is one made by Arceus in order for mortals to be able to comprehend it. Arceus's theme is essentially an unnerving drumbeat with discordant chords which clash and sound nothing like what we've heard before. Ghetsis views himself similarly to a God. What's even worse is that his team was constructed to counter N's final team, implying if anything were to go wrong with N, he'd be able to take him down and gain control once more. His hydreigon too, has max power Frustration. A move that grows in strength with how much your pokemon hates you. Ghetsis then later on in B2W2 has a choir in the begin to rapidly chant his name, the theme being more intense to of course reflect his rage.
N, with his theme however, shows hints of mathematical refrences, which play into his special interest of maths. If we were to assign Middle C = 1, his theme represents the first few prime numbers and in his final battle the rhythm as well is odd and complicated, not only representing him as a character but his state of mind at this point.
His encounter theme as well as the aforementioned themes of his room in both games are also reflective of this theme of state of mind. We had stated his room was reflective of his innocence and naivety, showing, too, how he also wasn't understood by Ghetsis as all his toys don't reflect his true interests of mathematics and pokémon. His encounter theme in a minor key, reflecting an unease and mysterious hint to the character of N. The theme also abruptly stops with an imperfect cadence, which leaves the player hanging and confused. Now, the room's theme is steady and played with something akin to music box or a celesta. However, after the events of BW and we move onto B2W2 which is 2 years later, his room is broken, dull and dark, no longer bright and colourful and full of an eerie sense of life. The music is distorted and the tempo is everywhere, whereas N's encounter theme is in a major key, happy bright and the melody no longer ends in an imperfect cadence, the melody having had more added to it. He now realises it's not always black and white, and that a grey area Does exist, and He is that grey area. He's found his own truth and ideals, and is in peace.
In the manga however, this is all turned up to the max, with Ghetsis's actions now Much Worse, and on full display. We've only seen Ghetsis verbally abuse in infront of everyone in the games, but in the Manga, he starts getting physical. When Ghetsis starts to fall off the Plasma Frigate, M saves him and says how he loves him, but Ghetsis? He immediately calls N a monster, and without hesitation, beats N with his cane until unconscious??? Which yeah. It's fucking insane.
Anyways I have no clue how to end all this and honestly I don't know if I have anything more to say uhm. Just note that I Will make something similar with Æther Paradise and more specifically Lusamine's family because that's Also fucked up
Uhmmm yeah Pokémon is a good franchise the writing is really good but god this shit can get insane real quick..

okay so basically the main thing about ultrakill is that
god is Gone. left the earth out of guilt and is genuinely just Gone.
humanity is now gone, and nowhere to be seen
v1 is a machine that runs on blood
hell is also Full. and full of blood.
bare bones basics.
now, about God in ultrakill and why god is gone,
basically when god created earth and heaven, its... just the bible i suppose. thats the beginning of it all. allat.
now, when ultrakill Really starts is when god decides to give humans free will and when god creates Hell.
Now here's where the fun starts. god starts to regret ever giving humans free will, and immediately regrets the creation of hell, but can't destroy it; it's implied to be a massive living organism.
now. humans are ofc beings thst naturally conflict..... so yknow... god fucks off, heaven is left without a leader or whatever. yadda yadda. and to fill that empty void, the Council is made. this council is made by the highest angels and despite gabriel being such a high rank, he obeys the council No Matter what. and remember what abkut humans and free will and conflict? so... imagine world war i, but it never ended.
so yeah god regrets making something as horrible as hell ... uhhh . yadda yadda .... has deep regrets , because eternal damnation is too much and the regret eats away and god falls into a deep despair and loses all hope , and uh
about the council, its unknown how many angels in the council there are , in heaven and they carry on the fathers light , lead on heaven and they also continue on the punishment in hell
and also gabriel who is the judge of hell kneels before them because i think . ecause the council are in control of the fathers light ? we don't know what it is but the fathers loght gives them power n shit , and also is essentially a life force
is this foreshadowing for later? maybe
# the lust layer and king minos
okay so . in one of the layers , lust , we see a portrait of a king ; king minos
so , king minos was the judge of all of hell . hence his full title being king minos , judge of hell . " but why do we see his corpse ?! what happened ?! "
so , gods dissapearance was not only felt up in the heavmes and earth , but of course , hell too , and the citizens of hell were able to breathe for a moment as the angels sent down to punish those in hell returned to heaven due to the dissapearance , granting them some peace .
well , so basically : king minos , which i will refer to as just minos , ruled over one of the layers — this being the lust layer , as we see his photos in said layer . but he eas of course the judge of hell , so he was also the one to decide which layer damned souls would end up going to or whatever .
he did have some sympathy for humanity though as he believed they shouldn't be punished for lust , as it was both natural , and that loving another shouldn't be a sin that lead to eternal punishment ; hence the creation of the massive city in the lust layer , it was essentially a paradise and safe space of sorts ???
so ueah , creation of a city in the lust layer !!! when the council was formed , they did NOT like this when they found out , and wanted those in hell to continue the punishment carried out by god , and were enrsged st what minos has done to the lust layer . and so what essentially happens , is the council sends gabriel down to fight minos , who didn't fight back one bit and believed gabriel would listen to his reasoning , thus was killed .
and the desth of minos essentially brought back the torture of the husks in hell almost immediately !!!
" so is that all for minos ? " nope .... theres more !!!! so basically ; due to his high status and power , his death was sorta ... not the end of it all . and his soul , what remained of it , started to attempt form into a prime soul . basically this is because he had enough will , power , and status (?) iirc
so when someone has enough of these three things , their soul becomes powerful enough to exist without the need of a husk or something , so this soul is EXTREMELY powerful . and the council FEARED this . and basically the size of a husk of a person depends on their eill strength and status . so minos's corpse was MASSIVE . hence why he is enormous in the boss fight against his corpse .
so , what did the council do ? they took his soul snd imprisoned it before it could become a prime soul !! and thru imprisoned it in a flesh prison ,!?? imprisoned . inside his own corpse . so uh .
and basically what happened is that his corpse , husk , whatever , in controlled and infested eith parasites and stuff , and is controlled to destroy the city he made . snd whats worse ? minos's soul is AWARE of this destruction and thus is confirmed in his enemy entry iirc !!!
OH YEAH and due to the death of minos , gabriel is made the new judge of hell
# the greed layer and king sisyphus
greed is of course another layer of hell that was essentially a kingdom ruled over king sisyphus . now , unlike minos , who was gentle and noble , such values mattered little to sisyphys who would hladly lie , cheat or kill if that's what is needed to protect his comrades . like , he didn't really care about both his people's suffering , or his own . he found enjoyment from it iirc ? and with the departure and dissapearance of god he took his opportunity to form an army in the greed layer i think ? and it was basically him wanting to take down heaven and the upcoming tyranny of it though i rhink he also just wanted his own fun for his own selfishness ??? " he knew he was fighting a losing battle " is what his data says ...
he genuinely was Not powerful enough against heaven but didn't care . he . essentially was just bored . thats the best way to explain it
but gabriel basically went down to greed , and quickly took down the army before sisyphys could even start a war. yeah . so the army was quickly taken down , and gabriel beheaded sisyphus with ease ...
aaaand of course , like minos , sisyphus started to form into a prime soul after his death . difference is though , minos formed into a prime soul because he dared to defy heaven . sisyphus defied heaven straight up , and seeked to destroy it ... and when the council of heaven imprisoned him in a flesh panopticon , he was already turning into one due to the amount of spite he had for heaven . hence why he was forming into a prime soul faster than minos , he was also significantly stronger than minos . he had will , but not power to destroy heaven .
and another difference is that his siul was not imprisoned in his corpse like minos — his corpse was he was placed TWO layers down is heresy . so that he is as FAR away as possible .
and the power of sisyphus's soul meant the angels had to essentially rush to improson him , but it was sorta too late ??? he already was forming by the time they imprisoned him , and thats why he BREAKS OUT OF THE PANOPTICON HIMSELF when its slightly damaged

# the final war
so yeah. remember what i said about wwi? yeah.
so basically humans Kept On Fighting in the war and essentially started making robots to fight For them. hence the creation of certain machines like
- guttertank
- guttermen
- 1000-thr earthmover
- "v1"
these machines were all made for one purpose: war, and to counter eachother.
all these machines (except the earthmovers) run off Blood, and this is seen clearly through guttermen, which hold a coffin where prisoners of war are forced into to fuel the guttermen. they would be kept on the brink of death though to ensure they are used to the max and there's no waste left or whatever. gruesome. i know.
but guttermen were one of the first war machines made by the russians to basically clear out trenches. they were also one of the first blood powered machines, so nobody knew how to properly fuel them with blood.
they were absolutely horrific in that aspect, but also in terms of combat.
not long after, the germans made the guttertanks, made to counter guttermen. and that's how the chain of making machine after machine to fight eachother in the war alongside humans had formed. a 200 year long war.
and yeah it's also how v1 was made. implied to counter and destroy earthmovers. LMAOOO
ohoho... now you might be wondering: what happened to the war in ultrakill?
well i dont remember entirely. hah. But i Do know that after the earthmovers were made, v1 was about to be put into mass production, but this was halted after So Much Destruction that the peace happened.
now; what are earthmovers? earthmovers were made by the japanese and are so powerful they're able to Level A Whole City.
they were so massive too, people could Genuienly Live On Them. so that's why some parts of 7-4 felt like going through a town.
now. v1? its Tiny. and Yeah. Exactly. v1 being able to counter an earthmover is shown in 7-4 and you basically... destroy the innards and security systems of the earthmover. bye benjamin
now. the peace? yeah. that's how streetcleaners and v2 was made
v2 was essentially v1 but repurposed for the peace, to protect instead of destroy.
streetcleaners were made to essentially destroy any filth or destruction, dead bodies from the war.
now you might be wondering; what about hell? now that's when the fun starts to happen.
The Hell Expeditions so yeah after the new peace, they found out about hell and so humans wanted to explore. they used old war machines to assist in the expeditions and due to hell in ultrakill being similar to dantes inferni, its safe to assume the prelude happens close to earth or whatever. and yeah as i mentioned before the arg library of babel thing shows and supports all my stuff about hell beign sentient. humans didn't know of hells sentience and during expeditions, doors would lock and teleport enemies, and the doors locking and the teleporting wasnt a defense, wasnt an attack, but was for hells own entertainment so Yeah.
also i remembered there was a poem hidden away in violence somewhere that is basically implied to be written by a gutterman

ive figured it out. i know why the creatures are suddenly and undetectably appearing inside our facilities. i know why spare parts and pieces of machines keep disappearing. i know why the doors seem to malfunction and suddenly lock themselves. its not a glitch in the system. its...

hell is alive. it breathes. it thinks. the entire area is a massive intelligent superorganism and it is harsh and it is cruel. just by watching us it has learned how our systems and machines work. it has not only begun to deconstruct our technology but also reassemble it in perverse ways, attaching parts to the creatures it tortures, making them into an aimless army of death and destruction. it warps them across itself to get them past our security. it locks our doors to trap us with them.

this is not an attack. this is not a defence. this is entertainment. this is an exhibition of death and cruelty and suffering for its own sake. it had grown tired of what it had and we unwillingly just offered ourselves up as new playthings.

tom please for the love of god cancel this project immediately, we have to abandon everything and seal this place away. leave the machines and tools behind. evacuate as many as we can, before it is too late.

Hell Itself
now. ive stated previously that hell is a living organism. what the hell am i on about.
well, hell is implied to actually be alive, from spawning in the enemies v1 attacks to even the Terminals.
also it has been stated officially, this, in an entry in the library of babel website iirc? i can find it later. ANYWAYS
yeah, hell can teleport stuff and its Weeeeiiirddd.
also, humans Have done hell expeditions and yku can imagine how That went.
hell teleporting stuff is also the explanation as to why machines made by humanity are there; especially in the deeper, lower layers of violence where EARTHMOVERS RESIDE. MULTIPLEEEE.
as for streetcleaners theyre just There. they dont spawn in. genuinely.
the hell expeditions were so dangerous due to this casualties started rising and rising and eventually... well. its hard to explain humanity's extinction of what happened Exactly, but its safe to assume somewhat that the hell expeditions were the seal of humanity's extinction entirely
WHAT EXACTLY IS V1?
v1 like i had mentioned previously is a mahine designed for war, implied to counter earthmovers specifically and is the protagonist / who you play as in the game.
v1 unlike other war machines is able to heal on the go, unlike say for example guttermen, who had to be manually refilled with blood. this is due to v1's thin, fragile plating which could absorb blood making v1 both able to refill and fix its exterior by itself / "on the go", but also make it extremely (but not actually) squishy (weak).
its production was extremely expensive to produce, and also was incredibly late as, during the testing phase, the final war ended in favour of the new peace and v1 never managed to fulfil it's true duty of being an unstoppable force.
now, one thing i didn't mention is that it is implied that being blood fueled, these machines of war have actual sentience. this is easily shown by the poem that is implied to be written by a gutterman.
v1 is no exception, as seen when you die as v1 in game, the desrh screen flashes with an error screen including the text "I DON'T WANT TO DIE." and multiple lines imply attempts of screaming in pain / for help and a "heart".
V1'S TRIP TO HELL

now after all that, it's time to actually descend down into hell for the explanation of all of the ultrakill lore During the game.
now. as i said again and again before, v1 runs on blood.
and guess what was the only thing left on earth that could supply blood? humans!... until they went extinct.
solution?
go to hell, and as a war machine, all v1 knows is to kill, kill, kill. to keep itself alive and fueling, and to keep fulfilling its programmed purpose.
now, of course in game we go on a Massive killing spree, wiping out the prelude layers, but also limbo, lust and gluttony.
now... wait. in 1-4, we're faced with a certain foe that is to be mentioned...
1-4 // LIMBO , CLAIRE DE LUNE.
here we are, at the very end of the limbo layer. the sun has set into a peaceful night, and no enemies are about.
3 skulls for 3 pedestals is what we needs, and upon finding one skull, placing jt and returning back to where you entered, we see a strange occurrence; a red.. you? of course, you follow it to the room it went into, and.. nothing.
upon obtaining all three skulls, and entering the final room of the level, here we see our first prominent boss; V2.

V2 is exactly what thr name implies; a second, better version of v1. but wait, wasn't v1 put out of production due to the war ending? correct! so they repurposed v1 because of course, it was Expensive. v2 was built for the new peace, compared to v1. v2 was a peacekeeper, essentially.
so what's it doing down here? god knows.
but after a gruelling fight with its counterpart, v1 reigns the winner, and steals v2's arm, the knuckleblaster. (i also want to note v1's own arm is labelled the feedbacker. and it's the only arm that can parry attacks.)

the knuckleblaster when held down, releases and explosion and.. yeah it's in the name.
anyways, that's the end of v2.. for now.
3-2 // GLUTTONY , IN THE FLESH.
now of course, on went v1's killing spree through hell, and this of course catches the attention of heaven, and of course, a certain angel; Gabriel, judge of hell.
gabriel confronts v1 near the end of gluttony, and commands it to cease its descent through hell and return to the surface.

"machine, turn back now. the layers of this palace are not for your kind. turn back, or you will be crossing the will of god."

v1 ignores of course snd contunues on, so gabriel is now to personally challenge this war machine, and plans to cease its rampage like how he had killed minos and sisyphus.
though, gabriels efforts are demolished. he stood no chance against v1 who was Literally designed to wreck an earthmover. and his defeat? caused him to go into a massive outrage as he has never been defeated before.

"what...? how can this be.. bested by this— thing.?! you insignificant FUCK! THIS IS NOT OVER!— may your woes be many... and yours days, few!"

the fact that also v1 was specifically noted by heaven and sent down their strongest angel due to how insanely destructive v1 was... craazy.

ACT II // IMPERFECT HATRED.
Here we are in Greed after defeating Gabriel.
What happened to Gabriel post Gluttony fight, you may ask? Simply put, he was stripped of the Father's light and now has 24 hours.
Away from Gabriel and back to V1, it has now landed in 5-1, GREED ; Sandy, Hot, and Miserable. Similarly to how we met a familiar foe at the first layer of ACT I: IMPERFECT HATRED, we Again meet a familiar foe at the first layer of ACT II; This foe being V2. Improved, filled with rahe and jealousy, and with a brand new arm made by itself. Of course... V2 stood no chance against the rampaging war machine and is finally fully dead, reduced to a large pool of blood and what remains? It's new arm, The Whiplash; A grappling hook that can hook onto enemies amd these weirdass orb things scattered throughout the rest of the layers.

In Wrath, nothing much Really happens..? In 5-2 you meet the ferryman, and can either spare him with a coin or fight him via breaking the idol, you go into the ship, find out lore about a ferryman who got saved by Gabriel.. All that fun stuff. Oh yeah you also fight a leviathan in 5-4. Fun!

Now... Here we are in Heresy. Halfway through 6-1, you hear a voice, a very familiar voice at that! It's Gabriel! And Gabriel, after the fight in 3-2, is clearly Not Happy. He gives a speech and.. Yeah. 6-2 is where the fun begins. Throughout your journey towards Gabriel, he starts off saying by how you've wiped out the upper layers of hell; Limbo, Lust, Gluttony... All gone. Nothing left alive after V1's spree for blood. As the organ plays and V1 continues to make it's way towards the last room, Gabriel aware of the incoming presence of the war machine. And now; the Rematch. Gabriel was no longer the judge of hell. No.
He was now titled the Apostate of Hate, his appearance faltering, his "perfect image" cracking as he lets out a voicecrack, and IMMEDIATELY UPON STARTING THE FIGHT, BECOMES ENRAGED.

THIS ANGEL. FUCKING HATES V1. AND IT'S OBVIOUS. Though, after the fight.. Something Clearly changes — He clearly feels conflicted, blatant Hesitance upon threatening V1; Where in the first fight wishes V1's days few without a stutter, here, Gabriel pauses before saying it. And the scene we see after clearly emphasises this change.
Gabriel, faced with the council, REBELS. With a clean cut, he slices the head of an angel from the council, and holds it up from a balcony for all of heaven to see. Gabriel has rebelled. He was stripped of the light already, his death upon it being revoked was inevitable.

Now, the next section is of course a WIP. With Violence already out and fraud in the making, Treachery is still to come and we are unsure of the fate of Gabriel truly during this Act.. (V2 meanwhile resides in 7-S as a wine glass of blood next to a plushie of Hakita.)

I will talk properly about Act III upon the release of Fraud despite it being... Possibly ages away. So as consolation, I'll toss an analysis we made about Violence and more thoughts we've had about it.

ACT III // GODFIST SUICIDE.

Aaah, Violence. Seems like after defeating Gabriel in such a blood red layer, they decide to toss a flashbang at you because Jesus Christ this layer is WHITE.
In this layer, we are in a strange, maze-like building. Crosses and mannequins scattered about.
In an area of the building, you find a book.

They praise their beloved Father who had planted it and filled us with the dew of its leaves and the nectar of its fruit, that which give us life, courses through our veins...

And about these mannequins, they're odd; Too long limbs, with them looking pierced together as blood dribbles down their bodies. They seem to be Breathing too. Uncanny, they are, as they strike poses as if in a magazine or a clothing store.
They're everywhere in this building, and even in one room, Dozens lie, still, and posed. That is... Until V1 picks up the skull from the skeleton at the end of the room. All of them have moved.
Right to where V1 stands. Yet still passive. Unmoving. Unnerving.
And as V1 enters the room where the pedestal for the skull lies... Now they're hostile. Attacking and upon defeating all of them; red splatters against the white tiles of the room; You're painting it Red.
Now, the Violence layer is a show of the three categories of Violence;

- Violence to thy neighbors,
- Violence against the self,
- And Violence against God, Nature and Art.

With 7-2, 7-3 and 7-4 being each one respectively.

7-2 has you go through a literal battlefield, with gunshots ablaze, visible in the skies, with Earthmovers in the distance hostile towards eachother as in this layer you witness what Violence in this layer is; The enemies do not attack you primarily, but also eachother, as if they're still in a war, doing their purpose.

7-3 is a different story. You go through a forest, the trees uncanny and upon closer inspection, take the appearance of Actual People; and they are. In Dante's Inferno, this forest is called "Wood of The Suicides", and the name is pretty self explanatory... The trees bleed upon their branches being broken and their fruits plucked by hungry harpies. Though in Ultrakill, as you traverse through the wood, and reach a gardenlike area with metal gates, and a stone with words written in Red splayed across it. As you progress, you come face to face with a dead tree in the central plaza, and the message "F E E D I T ." as bloody red apparitions appear. Upon defeating them, the once dead tree had soaked up the blood, standing tall and proud, with vibrant crimson leaves gently floating down.

There are two other trees to "feed". All the same upon clearing the room. Tall, red, vibrant, now alive instead of appearing dead. Now all fed.
Now, 7-4... Oh lord. Where do I begin.

7-4 has you scaling up a LITERAL EARTHMOVER. Though.. As you enter the level, and come face to face with it, it lets out a cry of fear an alarm, aiming its attack at you; Here's a fun thing. In the distance, you see another earthmover, the one that the earthmover you're scaling up was previously attacking. Though, as it spots you, V1, it Ceases it's attack and aims at You. It deems You as a bigger threat than another earthmover.

Though this, you may be wondering how does 7-4 represent violence against God, Nature and Art? Simple. Remember what I said about earthmovers?
They're massive machines that run on solar power, capable of reducing an entire city to smithereens by itself. They were the reason the war ended, they caused So much pollution that they had covered up the sun, ceasing its own power source, and had humans living on them due to how much destruction they'd cause and how massive they were. They were the violence against God, Art and Nature.
This level also holds Hell's Note.

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY IT COULD HAVE ENDED.
WAR NO LONGER NEEDED ITS ULTIMATE PRACTITIONER. IT HAD BECOME A SELF-SUSTAINING SYSTEM. MAN WAS CRUSHED UNDER THE WHEELS OF A MACHINE CREATED TO CREATE THE MACHINE TO CRUSH THE MACHINE. SAMSARA OF CUT SINEW AND CRUSHED BONE. DEATH WITHOUT LIFE. NULL OUROBOROS. ALL THAT REMAINED IS WAR WITHOUT REASON.

A MAGNUM OPUS. A COLD TOWER OF STEEL. A MACHINE BUILT TO END WAR IS ALWAYS A MACHINE BUILT TO CONTINUE WAR. YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL, OUTSTRETCHED LIKE ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN. YOU WERE BEYOND YOUR CREATORS. YOU REACHED OUT FOR GOD, AND YOU FELL. NONE WERE LEFT TO SPEAK YOUR EULOGY. NO FINAL WORDS, NO CONCLUDING STATEMENT. NO POINT. PERFECT CLOSURE.

Now then, since we're bored and Heresy is a long while away, we're gonna forward a whole Violence layer yap we did Ages ago.
So some info may be repeated.

OLD VIOLENCE LAYER YAP ++ GENERAL ULTRAKILL SOUNDTRACK YAP

hi guys i just woke up earlier so it's ultrayapping time!!!

i'm gonna do a very quick yap about some stuff about the violence layer before going on about the whole game because genuinely, the violence layer is my genuine favourite next to wrath simply because of lore.

immediately you are faced eith sentient mannequins, who are Breathing, alive, but static. these mannequins are stuffed full of the torn and ripped apart bits of sinners whom tried to escape the violence layer and in return? are stuck here eternally.

there's the minotaur, a beastly, hideous thing classified as a supreme demon and a gift to minos — who banished it away deep into the garden of forking paths due to it being a horrible reminder of his past mistakes.

then we have the existence of the earthmovers being in the violence layer.
the whole existence of the earthmovers in the violence layer could be a genuine head scratcher, especially considering these massive machines of war and destruction were made to run on both blood And solar power— and solar power is something inaccessible in hell. especially considering this is the 7th layer.
it's already confirmed and known that hell is Also an entity in ultrakill— one that's able to teleport objects and other entities within it, and an organism so powerful that god couldn't unmake it, and regrets ever making hell. it was much too powerful. it also can learn from humans...
but basically, hell had probably teleported earthmovers down into the violence layer and fuel them on hell power, and it's shown machines can use hell power, mindflayers exist and use hell power to attack v1.

but the earthmovers— they are literally the embodiment of war. the final war was so devastating and destructive to earth especially at the end, all because of the earthmovers— their terminal entry states that it only requires One to level a city... and knowing how there's three that we know of in hell, maybe there's more in the violence layer, or even on earth,
due to how they managed to genuinely destroy the earth's surface, making it uninhabitable due to how destructive they are.

the entire violence layer even makes a point on jow War—driven it is just by having guttermen, guttertanks, and earthmovers in active conflict with eachother, and my point is also proven in the track "do robots dream of eternal sleep?" where distant gunfire can be heard faintly at the end of the track.
and that's another thing—
guttermen and guttertanks.
guttermen were one of the first war machines made by the russians to basically clear out trenches. they were also one of the first blood powered machines but the problem is: nobody knew how to properly fuel them with blood. the solution? stuff a person in a coffin and let that person fuel the gutterman whilst constantly kept on the brink!
they were absolutely horrific in that aspect, but also in terms of combat.
not long after, the germans made the guttertanks, made to counter guttermen. and that's how the chain of making machine after machine to fight eachother in the war alongside humans had formed. a 200 year long war.
it's also how v1 was made. implied to counter and destroy earthmovers.

the whole final war is essentially a scenario;
"what if wwi never ended after 4 years? what if it never ended for 2 centuries."

and ultrakill is the result of it; albiet of course with ideas from dante's inferno and hakita's own poetic imagination regarding maybe the minotaur and hideous mass.

some neat details i want to mention is;
- in the minotaur's entry, it claims at the end that it only desires one thing, and that is to see the sun one last time. its death animation is a good reference to this, as it faces up to the sky as it dies. it's actually really tragic..

- another thing is the sound the earthmover lets out in 7-4, where it lets out a cry of terror an warning alarm rings out upon seeing v1— the machine designed to kill it.
oh yeah, and here's the track i mentioned— "Do Robots Dream Of Eternal Sleep?".
the title in itself is also probably alluding to the guttermen, and i haven't refreshed my memory on them properly admittedly, but i think the title is referencing how the guttermen do dream of eternal sleep;
all the machines in ultrakill are rather sentient and if you think about each little detail in ultrakill, like how the earthmover cries at v1, how the streetcleanerd can dodge attacks and strive to purify even if it results in bloodshed and arson, and how v2 is shown to display jealousy and genuine rage at v1— especially when you use the knuckleblaster against it; it's own arm.

i think... what's a really neat detail is the menu music as well as the music for the terminals.
"the fire is gone" is an original track by hakita that kind of links towards "into the fire", which is the track for the tutorial/first level of the game, 0-1 in the prelude.
i feel like it could be put into a lovely little saying if you think about the significance of the lore in ultrakill, as well as the intro bootup sequence.

mankind is dead.
hell is full.
blood is fuel.

and v1 essentially shreds through all of hell, especially considering the significance of p-ranks, and empties hell entirely for fuel.
mankind and the earth is dead from the final war, humanity digging its own grave and going extinct by their own hands. the hell excavations in search for a new source of fuel going completely wrong as they find out that hell is truly a sentient being.

they're all gone.

so v1? goes down into hell in search of fuel to keep alive. it doesn't want to die.
"I DONT WANT TO DIE" — the death screen.
so "the fire is gone" could be put into a way like this:

into the fire, v1 went. and soon enough, hell is now empty, the fire is now gone.

especially with how titles for tracks in a soundtrack can narratr a story like with undertale;

#001: ONCE UPON A TIME
#101: GOODNIGHT

it's not farfetched to say that it's connected and iz really quite poetic in a sense.
to add to this, there's a music box variant of the menu theme that is slow, gentle and is like a lullaby. this could be some sort of little ending for ultrakill as v1 is slowly shutting down due the lack of fuel sources as hell is now empty.
as for the terminals, it plays a track labelled "take care" in the soundtrack. it's taken from the song called "were you foolin?" and later on in the song, has vocals that have a lovely melody to it.
the one in ultrakill that plays on the terminals only plays the instrumental (with the cybergrind leaderboard playing a version more similar to the original song.)
it feels so bittersweet that traces if humanity are still around, with of course machines existing but those are a result of war, of bloodshed.

something as simple as the track that plays in terminals and even the fire is gone, with how crackly and natural they sound could allude to the more simpler, calm bits of humanity that can be appreciated, their music and how despite the vocals being lost in the terminal's rendition of "were you foolin?" it's still preserved and played for v1 to enjoy.

the terminals do have a sort of sentience too, with in 5-3, ship of fools, when the ship capsizes and flips over, the exit is actually the entrance, and the terminal that is now flipped over has "ow." displayed on its screen.

oh, i also want to say, the usage of saxophone and trumpet alongside piano; they're very common instruments for more "old" songs, and are very recognisable and can be linked with the past and the more jazzy, lovey songs; songs about love, about joy. it can link to how despite how brutal and violent ultrakill is, there's still some sort of calm within with a ton of storytelling within, and the fire is gone is a perfect example of this.
the violence layer is entirely white, with of course black accents and red. red is a very prominent thing about the violence layer that isn't there already; you make it red. you paint the layer red, and it's entirely white because it's your canvas of bloodshed.
there's also the world looks white and it's a much calmer version. but the violin? it's a symbol of beauty and how emotional the layer can be, a symbol on serenity and beauty of the blood that you will paint the walls and floors with, and what you feed the trees with.
the mere presence of the violin and church organ change the track and the emotion it conveys entirely, and if it were to be replaces with another, the value and sentiment the track holds changes entirely, giving off a completely different tone and story.
the piano and violin holds elegance behind the violence, the drums carry the brutality and harshness of it, and the church organ conveys the divine value of blood towards not only the layer but to you— you yourself, not just v1, uses blood as a fuel. we need it to live, like how v1 does. the entire layer, if you think about it, revolves around blood and its value.
the kalimba and crescendo of strings before fading to a diminuendo, it holds fragility and delicacy. it's calm before the storm essentially and it's truly a theme of curiosity towards the now bright, pure white layer after tearing through heresy.

And fun lore tidbit;
The Terminals of Ultrakill are capable of singing but don't because they're shy. :]

Also, all we have of Fraud so far is a track titled "in absentia λογοσ"
It's so good... Apparently it also sounds like several fanmade tracks? I'm unsure though and could be Very wrong.
The cover also features an Eye. A Full Eye. Something that is NEVER shown in the game with the only exception being;
The death screen
And the Encore levels OST cover.
